Best maps to start on

Not every map is equally hard. Recommended order for beginners:
- Ground Zero: Made for beginners; level restrictions keep experienced players out. Ideal for your first PMC raids.
- Woods: Large and open; low enemy density, plenty of room to escape. Beware snipers.
- Customs: The most popular and quest-rich map; worth learning early but dangerous.
Memorize extraction points

Every map has multiple extracts and not all are always active. Some require a fee, a key or co-op extraction. PMC and Scav extracts also differ.
Once at an extract you wait a few seconds, during which you're vulnerable. So check your surroundings as you approach, and try to memorize extracts without opening the map.
Practice with offline mode
Offline mode is the best way to learn a map and its extracts without real risk. You can adjust AI density and explore with no fear of losing gear.
After learning a map well offline, meet real players as a Scav, and only then enter as your PMC.
PRO TIP
Use fixed reference points to navigate: railways, large buildings, towers, water. There's no GPS — landmarks are your compass.
WARNING
Watch which way you move the instant you spawn. Many deaths happen because players rush the same popular loot spot right off spawn.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which map is best for beginners?
Ground Zero should be first; level restrictions keep experienced players out. Then learn Woods (open, low pressure) and Customs (quest variety).
Are extraction points the same every raid?
Fixed extracts open every raid; conditional ones (fee, key, co-op) require conditions. PMC and Scav extracts differ — learn the distinction.
