Pre-Wipe Preparation: What to Do Before a Season Ends
The end of a season no longer means the same thing for everyone. Your seasonal character will be reset, but your main character will stay as it is. So the old "do not hoard, spend everything" advice only applies to the seasonal character. Everything you save on your main stays with you next season too.
On your seasonal character: spend and experiment
Your seasonal character's stash, money and hideout will be gone when the season ends. Use the last weeks to try expensive builds and armor, and push the hard tasks and achievements. Season rewards you earn on the seasonal character stay unlocked on all your characters, so if you have a reward left to unlock, the last weeks are a good time for it.
Finish the battle pass
Battle pass progress is shared between your main, your seasonal character and PvE. Rewards you claim are permanent and work in every mode, but battle pass currency, documents and crates do not carry over when the season ends. If you have unused documents or unopened crates, use them before the season ends.
Push your league rank
League rewards are given the first time you reach a rank and stay even if you rank down later. The weekly result is decided in a group of 50: the top 25 rank up, 15 stay and the bottom 10 rank down. If you are close to the next rank, the last weeks are your last chance for that reward. Rank rewards are on the season page.
On your main character: save for next season
Your main is not reset, so there is no point burning your money at the end of the season. If you plan to start a new seasonal character, focus on things you can learn with your main: task routes, key locations and guns that work early on.
Plan the first days of the new season
A new seasonal character starts at trader level 1. Choosing what to build ahead of time saves you time in your first raids: the early wipe builds page shows the lowest recoil build for 50 guns you can buy at trader level 1 and 2, with the full part list. If you would rather build it yourself, you can pick a trader level in the Auto Build panel of the weapon modder.
Should I spend my money before a wipe?
On your seasonal character, yes, because its money and stash will be reset. On your main, no, the main character is not reset at the end of a season.
Do battle pass documents carry over?
No. Rewards are permanent, but currency, documents and crates do not carry over at the end of the season. Use them before it ends.
Do I lose league rewards when the season ends?
No. You get a rank's reward the first time you reach it and it is permanent.
